About Us

UZUN is a music investment and publishing agency that provides a  comprehensive range of services that comprise royalty collection, copyright litigation, studio recording, music advisory and portfolio management services, that are catered to investors, collaborators, composers, songwriters and musicians. UZUN is uniquely equipped to deliver innovative revenue streams from an array of industries including returns generated from the recording or the reproduction of music, ringtones, lyrics, digital downloads, online streaming and public broadcasting. As for UZUN’s promotional reach, it spans to recording, film and television studios, advertising agencies and commercial outlets.

In essence, UZUN is the “One-Stop-Shop” for funding, registering, selling, promoting musical works; whilst effortlessly collecting music royalties.

UZUN translates to “EARS” in Arabic, emphasizing the significance of hearing in all aspects of our daily lives. More particularly, listening to middle eastern melodies and songs, sharpens the senses, ignites the most profound emotions and enriches the soul. Regrettably in MENA, the fame and fortune of musical masterpieces are attributed to the performing artists, omitting the composers, the poets, the lyricists or the musicians who remain behind the public spotlight.

At heart, UZUN was created to advocate eclipsed local stars, keeping an ear out  for those who infringe on their music publishing rights. Our motto shall be echoed across the globe whereby if anyone “Listens” to our regionally produced music, UZUN will strive  to support those concerned “Collect” the royalties that are owed.

Overview

There are two halves to every song: the recording part (those that record, produce, sell the song or album) and the composition/publishing part (the underlying lyrics, beat and melody composers or writers).
Both parts, the recording and the composition/publishing,  earn separate and distinct royalties when a song is either distributed, streamed or played publicly.
Even though songwriters or composers, are entitled to royalties, called “Publishing Royalties”, collecting them individually from every organization that uses their music/lyrics would be a full-time job.
